The time has finally come! Prison State: Episode 1 is now available on other platforms! You can get it for FREE on Kobo, and the iBookstore. As of right now it’s not on Barnes & Noble. Why? Because you can only make a book free on B&N if you go through a distributor called Smashwords, and Smashwords doesn’t allow serial novels on its platform.
If your a Nook reader, I’m sorry. Prison State will be on your platform once the entire first season is released, so just please be patient. If you can’t, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’d be happy to send you a free copy of Episode 1.
Thanks, and happy reading!
If you haven’t been reading Prison State because you don’t want to read it serialized, I’ve got the thing for you! When Episode Three comes out, I’ll be releasing Episodes 1-3 in a boxed set. Now you’ll be able to read the first three episodes in the same book all at once.
Can this get any better?
Yes it can!
For the first week it’s out, it’ll only be .99 cents! That means you can get three episodes of Prison State for the price of one! Are you excited? I know I am.
I’m almost done with Episode Three right now, and it’s kind of AWESOME. Imagine a roller coaster going up before the big drop. That’s what Episodes One-Three are, up until the end of Three. That’s when the drop happens, and it’s all a downhill thrill ride until the end. I can’t wait for you guys to read!
Geez, do I feel stupid. Well, frustrated is more like it.
It’s June, and Episode Seven of The Visitors came out two months ago, and Episode Eight still isn’t out yet. Honestly, I did have problems with formatting, editing, etc.. But in the end, those are just excuses, and I hate excuses.
When you get down to it, the real reason is me. I was my own roadblock. I was having lots of self-doubt and no motivation. I had such intense writers block, it bled into other projects and I haven’t been able to write anything in weeks. It was like every time I sat down to write something, my entire body would shut down and my fingers were unable to move. Couple that with the fact that I had missed my deadline, it felt like the right side of my brain was brain-dead.
However, it recently it’s felt like somebody has hooked a defibrillator up to the right side of my brain and brought it back to life. The words are coming easier than ever. Even better, they’re the right words.
So, to save myself from a repeat of all of this, this is what’s going to happen with The Visitors:
Episode Eight will be coming out soon, along with episodes Nine and Ten. They’ll come out every week, on Tuesday. So that will stay the same. Nothing on your end will change, you’ll just have to wait a little longer. Why? Because instead of writing each episode every week, I’m going to write those three episodes before I release any of them. That way I’ll have more time to edit, and I wont have to worry about missing any deadlines. Once Episode Ten is out, all five episodes of Season Two will be released in a bundle, so if you don’t want to wait week-to-week, you can read it all at one time when that is released.
It feels great to finally get that all off my chest. I truly am sorry, and I hope to make it up to you by making these last three episodes as awesome as I can. Just think of these two months as a mid-season hiatus like TV shows do. I hope to make it up to you.
First of all, this post was scheduled to be posted this morning, but for some reason it didn’t. So, I apologize to all of those looking for this information, and are just now getting it.
This whole thing with serializing book to of The Intruders was an experiment, and one that has been going very well. However, I just have one more thing I am going to test. Since I don’t have hundreds of readers a week, waiting for the next installment, I’m moving release day. Episode Seven will be released this Friday, the 22nd. This is to try and see if I could increase coverage, and see how things go sells wise, since it’s the beginning of the weekend.
If you’re mad, pissed off, and hate me for moving the release day three days to try and benefit not only myself, but other authors: sorry I’m not sorry.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I wrote that whole blog post yesterday explaining my new serial plan. In that post, I mentioned that season 1 (The Intruders) was going to run weekly through April, and then in May season 2 (The Enemy) was going to start.
Well, I changed my mind.
I had a eureka moment this morning. I’ve been thinking it over in my head, and I’ve finally decided that I’m going to do it. I am releasing season 1 in its entirety right now. Hopefully, with some free promotions, that’ll raise some buzz for it.
Well, I’m glad you asked. Season Two will begin next Tuesday, the 12th!!! That’s right everybody! You can enjoy episode six (episode 1 of season 2) starting in one week! Then, every Tuesday for the next five weeks, you can get yourself a new episode! The episodes will range from 10,000 to 15,000 words, and will be priced at .99 cents.
Well then, you’re in luck! At the end of the five weeks, I’ll be releasing a combo set that has all five episodes of the season in one book! That way for those of you who want to read it in book form all at once, you’ll have the opportunity to! Everybody wins! You’ll just have to wait until April to read it.
If you have any questions about anything, let me know in the comments below, and I’d be happy to clear anything up. Also, if you want to be a beta reader for season 2, just shoot me an email, and you could have episode 1 of season 2 by tonight!
Thanks for all the support. It truly means a lot to me.
